Travelling to Toruń

By plane

International airports with good connection to Toruń:

Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) - main international airport in Poland,
Bydgoszcz (BZG) - the nearest airport, located in Bydgoszcz–Toruń metropolitan area,
Gdańsk (GDN), Poznań (POZ), Łódź (LCJ), Warsaw-Modlin (WMI) - other airports relatively close to Toruń.

All of the airports are served by major carriers, including LOT Polish Airlines. Low-cost carriers operates from these airports, too, mostly, WizzAir and RyanAir. Toruń has direct coach connections to the airports in Bydgoszcz and Gdańsk. However, connections by train between Warsaw Chopin Airport and Toruń are still comfortable.

By train or bus

Toruń is well connected with other cities and their airports by regional and intecity trains and buses. Ticket prices for trains and buses are of similar level. Toruń Główny is the main train station. You may also find usable smaller train stations: Toruń Miasto or Toruń Wschodni. The regional Bus Station is called Dworzec Autobusowy (abbreviated as D.A.) and is located nearby the Workshop place. The second bus stop with international connections is next to Toruń Miasto train station. Transportation in Toruń

While arriving Toruń by train to the Main Railway station (Toruń Główny) - take a bus or taxi to get to the city center, your hotel or Workshop location.

Bus: The most convenient connection is by lines 22 and 27. You may also find lines 12, 13 or 14 opportune. The second stop, immediately after crossing the large bridge over Vistula river, is near the Old Town. The third stop is close to the Workshop location.
Bus tickets are available from newspaper kiosks or ticket machines inside most buses (older ones accept only coins). Basic ticket costs 2.8 PLN and is valid for one route or 30 minutes. Validate your ticket as soon as you get on the bus or just after getting it at the ticket machine.

Taxi: Taxis are relatively cheap in Toruń. The fares are displayed in the side windows, and consist of the initial payment (4 to 6.5 PLN) and per kilometer fare (2 to 3.6 PLN). The ride to the city centre takes about 5-10 minutes and costs about 12-20 PLN (3-5 EUR). In many cases it is easier to call for taxi, e.g. +48 56 1-919-x, where x is from 1 to 9 (where 6 leads to taxi company for disabled).

Accommodation
Toruń is a tourist city with a rich hotel and gastronomical base. Hotel rooms are rather affordable, in most cases with prices per person ranging from around 40 EUR to 100 EUR per night.

Toruń Old Town is extremely popular tourist goal. The time of the Workshop is a long weekend in Poland and we recommend to book hotel in proper advance.
